Where To Find Spooky Treats This October Season

I went out on the town to find the best Halloween sweets. There are no tricks here, only tons of treats to keep your sweet tooth satisfied.

Halloween is just around the corner, and I went on a mission to scout out all the best spooky treats this season. My endeavors took me around town, and there are plenty of sweets to keep you satisfied all month long.

The Cake Mamas

This place is decked out in rainbow-colored streamers and is draped with pink walls. They’ve been featured in magazines, invited on talk shows, radio shows and even found themselves on “Cupcake Wars” –– and they brought their baking talent to the forefront this spooky season.

The Cake Mamas have new Halloween treats each week in October. Oct. 7-12 was Monster Mash.

Red Velvet Zombie, Candy Corn Funfetti, Cookies and Creme Bat and Pumpkin Cheesecake are all a part of the Monster Mash lineup. My personal favorite was Red Velvet Zombie, as beneath the green fondant shell, there is a whopping of cream cheese frosting.

Themed rice Krispy treats, cake pops and sugar cookies ranging from the bride of Frankenstein to the creature from the black lagoon are also available for purchase.

Crust and Crumble

Crust and Crumble is a family-owner Glendora bakery where I found Gingerdead Men.

The GingerDead Men is a classic gingerbread cookie that is lined with white icing to create a skeleton. The cookie will be available all the way through December and will simply lose its skeletal icing. I like to think of the GingerDead Men as a Halloween take on Christmas.

Pumpkin and candy corn shaped sugar cookies, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin scones and pumpkin cream cheese danishes can also be found at Crust and Crumble.

Krispy Kreme

Next, I headed over to Krispy Kreme, where the store was all decked out in spooky decor.

The shop has three celebratory doughnuts: Mumford, Hypno-Henry and Slimon.

Mumford is an original glazed doughnut covered in white icing and decorated with purple frosting, Hypno-Henry is a cake batter doughnut dipped in yellow and orange sanding sugar and Simon is another original glazed donut drenched in green, slimy icing.

These doughnuts will be available up until Halloween, and as a bonus, if you show up to your local Krispy Kreme in a costume on Oct. 31, you can get a free doughnut of your choosing.

IHOP

My last stop was IHOP.

An entire menu of the spooky and kooky Addams Family can be found at all participating restaurants. And while the menu is promotion for the new film, I thought it fit perfectly into these Halloween sweets.

The menu has options from Wednesday’s Web Cakes, Uncle Fester’s Ice Scream Shake, Gomeze’s Green Chili Omelette and Morticia’s Haunted Hot Chocolate.

Now, only one question remains: Where will you stop in and grab a treat? Or will you be like me and try them all?
